Standard selection of color active matrix TFT displays ranges from 1” to 100” diagonal sizes. Vs. complete monitors, these display panels entail some integration effort on the customer’s side to interface them to their source of data via either RGB, LVDS, V-by-One, MIPI, or Embedded DisplayPort communication methods. Also at times called “stretched” displays, these are long and narrow LCDs wider than the typical 16:9 format. Popular resolutions include HSXG of 8:3 format. Standard models are comprised of “cut and resealed” LCD panels and “original seal” types preventing image sticking issues. Sizes from a couple of inches up to 42” are available. Alternative to liquid crystal displays (LCDs), OLEDs address the demand for thinner and more flexible panels. Off-the shelf models are comprised of monochrome, partial area color, and full color types. Rectangular, square, and round shapes are available.
Impact addresses the need for outdoor-viewable displays through variety of methods to enable readability in very bright conditions. This is an example of standard models, the list includes low-power transflective and high-brightness standard options including 4K/Ultra-HD resolution displays.
