What challenges we faced:
The customer wanted to upgrade their pharmacy kiosk display which at the time was utilizing a recently discontinued consumer grade tablet for both their user interface and operational computer that controlled all peripheral components of the vaccine dispensing terminal.
Our Solution:
We acted as an extension of the customer's design team to create a customized display and computer solution. The integrated LCD+Touch panel and computer system both provided long-lifecycle dependability for the customer's kiosks while fitting the existing footprint of a discontinued tablet. Impact’s recommended solution, used by the client, could now withstand 24/7 operation and offers increased reliability with industrial-grade components including German-made motherboards from Kontron and all display parts. Impact’s products were supported by Impact without any changes to the design for many years. We saved the customer money by designing a display kit without unnecessary sheet metal, since the screen is incorporated into their enclosure. Impact was able to save the client even more money bypassing an AD Board by providing a direct digital connection (LVDS) between the computer system and the touch displays.
